About Byrne Contemporary

Byrne Contemporary is a brand new contemporary gallery for West Sussex, based in the stunning coastal village of Itchenor.

Located in a light-filled grade II listed old dairy, the gallery provides an inspirational backdrop for our artists’ work. The Old Dairy at Itchenor Park is also home to Daisy Rogers Fine Art, Daisy’s ever-popular art courses & workshops, plus Lucy with Diamonds fine jewellers.

Founded by fine artist Daisy Rogers-Byrne, Byrne Contemporary aims to do things a little differently. Capping commission for our artists at 25% means more money back to the creators of works sold, supporting creativity in the most practical way possible. As a gallery founded by an artist, we want to prioritise relationship-building with both artists & clients, and a friendly & efficient service for everyone, underpinned by openness and clear communication.

We have an incredible line-up of fine artists for our launch this winter - from leading painters Bridget Greenwood, Jo Vollers, Camilla Clark, Sophie Harding and Iona Stern, established artists including Jessie Woodward, Daniel Shadbolt, Diana Forbes, Emma Perring, Judith Brenner, Alec Cumming and Daisy Rogers-Byrne, to up-and-coming artists including ceramicist Lisa Stevenson and painters Rachel OM Wright & Camilla Gittins.

We also believe that selling beautiful art can sit alongside telling important stories through creative mediums. Alternating with our commercial exhibitions, Byrne Contemporary will be showcasing fine artists & photographers with a social impact/activist narrative. More details coming very soon.

Challenging perceptions, understanding and broadening horizons for both adults and children helps bring communities together, highlight the lived experiences of minoritised or marginalised groups and build respect for each other as human beings.

The power of creativity to connect people together as well as speak to us individually is powerful. We are excited to explore how a gallery can champion that, and hope you will join us on that journey.
