Lisa Stevenson

A series of pivotal moments led Lisa to pause and reflect, allowing a path to dedicate herself to become a practicing ceramicist. She loves how working with clay slows her down, encourages her to listen, be patient and hopeful. Each piece whether, functional, decorative or sculptural, shares a sense of belonging and calm.

Her work draws upon her personal experience of grief and how life events shape us to adapt and thrive. She highlights edges and surface design with carving and texture to represent the impact and moments of change. Exploring what gives something it’s essence and whether we can function in unusual ways reflecting these changes is emphasised.

The aim of her practice is to share the power and beauty of grief, experience and hope.
